Welcome. Corter Leather is a super-small, one man operation. Every product is 100% hand made by maker Eric Heins in a small apartment studio in Boston, Massachusetts. Each piece is designed in house, cut by memory, hand punched, and hand sewn. Templates are never made, so no two pieces perfectly alike.

For Japan Update #8

Above:Finn helping out

I've been spending a nice busy Saturday making the second batch of 500 bracelets while friends stop by to take shifts addressing and filling out customs forms. We (everyone that's ordered a bracelet, blogged the sale, or anything else) have raised just over $17,000 in about 5 days- just mind boggling. I'm going to keep the sale going till it stops, so no worries to all of those sending emails asking if they'll be able to order in time.

All orders from March 14th and 15th have been sent out!

I'm also planning to schedule the first donation next Monday, March 28th, at 1pm. This will be exactly the 2 week mark, and I'm excited to think we'll have over $20,000 to donate!

For Japan Update #7

A little before midnight, and we've hit $14,000! My two roomates Sara (stamping) and Tara (at the computer, addressing) are helping as much as they can to give me time to make all of the bracelets. Production is really coming along, and suppliers are being very good to us and overnighting supplies. We've got about 500 ready to get loaded and sent off, tomorrow I get the interesting task of going to the post office and figuring out how many stamps each needs.

An update to shipping- I'm confident that packages will ship 5-7 days after they're ordered if they keep coming in as they are now. However, should they increase, the time frame will go up a little bit. I will keep the shipping expectation at the top of the order page.

For Japan Update #6

We hit $10,000! Almost 700 bracelets ordered!

Instead of taking a break from orders, I'm simply going to keep working as hard as I can until we hit $20,000, which I think we can do soon if things keep going as they are. The orders from this point on will ship on or after next Friday, March 25th. I've made up about 550 bracelets, and I've got lots of friends coming in to help address. I'm going to get orders out the door as fast as possible.

We're doing it! We're helping Japan in a huge way!

For Japan Update #5

After working till close to dawn, I woke up this morning to see we'd hit $8000 raised....wow.

Once we hit $10k, which I'm hoping happens today, I'm going to have to make some calls and assess numbers to make sure this is all maintainable. I'm about 60% done with the first batch of 500 bracelets, then have to address all the envelopes and get to the post office hopefully tomorrow with the first few hundred orders.

My goal for the 2 weeks was $5k, it's looking like we'll double that in less than 72 hours. More updates in a little while!

For Japan Update #4

26 hours

$5000

We hit $5k at exactly 2:59, 26 hours after we started. That's almost $3.25 per minute, every minute, for 26 hours straight. It's so wonderful, I'm yet again amazed. People are calling for $10k, and I hope we hit it soon
