2011

Though I've only been around for 24 of them, I've never had as crazy a year as 2011. Corter has allowed me to do things I'd never thought possible, and it's thanks to every person that visits, purchases, blogs, tweets, tumbles, and talks about the things I make. I owe the world to all of you. It's because of you that I'm able to wake up every day and do what I love to do, and I can only hope it's because of Corter products that your pants are held up strong and your credit cards are stored away safe. Over 5,000 orders went out this year along with stockist orders and side projects, and while I know at some point in the future I'll have to expand I'm proud to say that everything is still 100% produced by me into the new year. 

 One of the most important things I will ever do in my life was the For Japan sale in March and April. In less than 4 weeks, we (mostly you!) raised and sent $32,000 over to one of my biggest inspirations in starting Corter, hopefully helping to ease the burden of such a tragic natural disaster. The sale's reach was global, and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience making and sending about 2,000 bracelets all over the world. My roommates and friends that helped address and stuff packages into the early morning hours deserve a special thanks, it wouldn't have been possible without them. 

 I got to work with some amazingly talented and genuine people this year- Corter stockists, Brad from Well Spent, the Boylston Trading Co. and Karmaloop crew, Kenn and everyone behind Declaration Clothing, Jeff at Ugmonk, Christine at N'East Style, Jessica at Shiney Squirrel, Charlotte at The Wilder Things- thank you for searching me out, it's been a pleasure and honor to work with you all and I look forward to plenty more in the future. 

 2011 was a bitch of a year. As a global community we saw some ugly things and experienced some less-than-ideal conditions in our every day lives. However, we powered through, and unlike years past we picked ourselves up and became determined to make things better. We got the ball rolling again, and I think the best part of the past 12 months was just how psyched it's got me on the next 12. 

Get out there, learn, create, and kill it next year everyone. Here's to a great 2012.
