Welcome. Corter Leather is a super-small, one man operation. Every product is 100% hand made by maker Eric Heins in a small apartment studio in Boston, Massachusetts. Each piece is designed in house, cut by memory, hand punched, and hand sewn. Templates are never made, so no two pieces perfectly alike.

Custom Orders Due to overwhelming demand of stock items, Corter Leather is not able to take custom orders as of 5.20.2011.

Spring Vacation

It's spring break time! While I'm not in college anymore (as of last May), my younger sister is, so we're heading up north to do some slushy spring skiing this week. If this rain continues, it might be more like surfing down the mountain. However it's always beautiful up there, and will serve as great inspiration as I start designing things for winter. I'll have email and internet, but I'll be taking a welcomed break from my tools, which have seen a solid half dozen custom jobs a week plus some Brewster Collection stuff.

Scrimshaw

What would you do as a weary sailor, sailing back to your home port after months at sea? I'd breathe a sign of relief, thankful that another trip is complete and my family will be fed. I'd sit on deck, with my flask in my pocket, and carve stories and trinkets for my young ones to remember me by when I leave on the next voyage. That's what the scrimshaw wallets are about, and coming soon as their own collection.

Well Worn pt. 2

This is a card holder I made in early October, 2007- only a month after I had picked up my tools for the first time. It's still in use today, and it's owner has this to say:

"its still my wallet, and its held up wonderfully. man, its been a few years since i bought this from you i think... seems like it at least. thanks again, this thing is awesome."

See how it's aged after the jump!

Well Worn

Most of the wallets I make are natural and not yet tanned or oil, so it's nice when I get to see them as they should be- well worn.
